Thoroughly Equipped is a podcast for women where we take the popular women’s ministry books, conferences, messages and teachings and compare them to Scripture. The purpose of T.E. is to exemplify the doctrine of Sola Scriptura and proclaim that “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work” –2Tim. 3:16-17.
How T.E. hopes to accomplish its goal:
- By helping women learn discernment.
For the woman who has gone through said book, videos, “bible” studies, etc. believing the author handled Scripture correctly. The purpose for the podcast is to help her learn how to compare what is read/said to Scripture and expose how Scripture is better than what the author/speaker provided.
- By assisting women in contending for the faith.
For the woman who has discerned that the popular female teacher/author is wrong but has friends, acquaintances, or church leaders that follow said female teacher/author. May it encourage her to infiltrate the conversation; provide her with a tool that may help her to ask questions and make statements that point said friend/acquaintance/leader to the Sufficiency of Scripture.
- By providing a resource for the local church
For the woman who serves in the local church’s women’s ministry. The purpose for the podcast is to observe teachings and claims of books, conferences, messages, etc. given by female speakers/teachers and compare them to Scripture to judge whether or not to use their resources for ministry.
- By encouraging women in their ministry.
To exalt Christ and glorify God, …for the sake of the faith of God’s elect and their knowledge of the truth, which accords with godliness, in the hope of eternal life… and to …teach what is good, and so train the young women to love husbands and children, be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled (Tit.1:1; 2:3-5). The purpose of the podcast is to show how Scripture is sufficient to thoroughly equip the Christian woman in their ministerial/vocational roles as friend, wife, mother, employee/employer, and servant of Christ in His Church.
The prayer of Thoroughly Equipped is to (by the grace of God) guide women into Scripture so that their love abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that [they] may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God. -Phil.1:9-11
